Day 2 · Stewardship

We inherit the world. Character is what we hand forward.

Power rarely arrives looking like power. Sometimes it is simply a tool, an answer, an inheritance, or a little more room to choose than somebody else has.

Have a think

We inherit the world. Character is what we hand forward.

The thought

None of us starts from zero. We inherit language, labor, land, belief, institutions, and technology—along with their gifts and damage. The question is not whether the inheritance is pure. It never is. The question is what becomes more truthful, more shared, and more livable because it passed through our hands.

A task for today

Before one decision today, ask: what am I passing forward—and who will have to live with it?
