The freedom to stop
Speed is flattering. It makes every capability feel like a command. Stoic temperance asks a harder question: what should a well-governed thinker decline, even when the action is available?

The thought
Joseph names the boundary before the opportunity becomes an excuse. The religious language belongs to his story; the discipline is universal. Consent, scope, and trust matter before an action, not only after harm is visible.
A task for today
Before one consequential action, check consent, scope, reversibility, and whether a smaller response would serve the neighbor better.
