Care is easy to endorse in the abstract. Its shape appears when another person’s need interrupts the schedule, complicates the plan, or asks us to share something we meant to keep.

The thought
Love is not the removal of every boundary. It is the decision that another life is real enough to affect our own. A useful ethic eventually costs attention, comfort, status, money, or time—or it remains branding.
A task for today
Give one affected person ten undivided minutes, one useful introduction, one share of credit, or one material form of help they actually requested.
